In Q1 2024, ISO’s technical committee on environmental managements systems (ISO/TC 207) released an amendment to the ISO 14001:2015 standard. “Amendment 1” adds element of climate change to clauses 4.1 and 4.2 as a requirement to consider to context of the organization as it relates to climate change.

4.1Add the following sentence at the end of the subclause:
The organization shall determine whether climate change is a relevant issue.
4.2Add the following note at the end of the subclause:
NOTERelevant interested parties can have requirements related to climate change.
