Darmoshark M2 4K Gaming Mouse Review & How to Buy (2024)

We will be reviewing the Darmoshark M2 4K, Darmoshark’s first magnesium alloy mouse, which has a minimalist shape and beautiful design like the Finalmouse Ultralight2, and a light weight of 42g, in a good way. It is a mouse that does not look like Darmoshark.

1. スペック

The M2 is Darmoshark’s first magnesium alloy mouse, and the 4K model we received has a beautiful gradation of ice blue and lilac purple, making it a very design-oriented mouse.

The Starly weighs around 37g and supports up to 1000Hz, the Red weighs around 42g and supports 4000Hz, and the Blue Purple also weighs around 42g and supports 4000Hz, but the only dongle included is one that can display mouse status. The only other difference is the battery capacity, with only the Starry being much lighter at around 37g instead of 200mAh. Of course, that makes the battery life worse, so those thinking of using the 4K dongle (sold separately) with the Starry should be careful.

One point of concern is the mouse wheel. I don’t recommend it for people who want to use the wheel a lot, such as Apex.

3. デザイン

The M2 is finished to the same level of quality as other magnesium mice, and the build quality is by far the best when compared to the older M3 and M3s. The rigidity of the shell is extraordinary, especially in relation to the weight, and the top to side and bottom shells do not flex at all when force is applied. The coloring is also beautiful, and the design, which is not seen in other manufacturers, will appeal to many users.

However, although the M2 has an elaborate shell design, the rest of the design and functionality seems to have been almost completely discarded. For example, the battery pack and the cable that connects the battery pack are just mass-produced parts, and there is no attempt to make these parts as inconspicuous as possible, as in the case of WLmouse. Also, the bottom shell is not a shell at all, but more of a frame, with no buttons to cover the DPI and PR buttons.

4. 形状

The shape of the M2 is almost identical to that of the Finalmouse Ultraright S. The low top shell, the less nubby side shells, and the main click indentation are almost identical. However, when you hold it, the rear of the mouse seems to be slightly wider, and the shape seems to taper off slightly from the rear of the mouse to the front. The sides of the MAYA are rounded and inverted, and the sides of the MAYA are slightly larger than those of the UltrarightS, so they are completely different in terms of comfort. In terms of size, it is really close to the Ultraright S and Pulsar X2V2 mini, and really small. Even at my size, it feels cramped to hold it covered or to grab it, so I don’t recommend it at all to people who know they don’t like small mice. However, for people like myself who prefer a small mouse, the shape is a dostrike, and I think it is likely to fit those who want to trace with their fingertips, hold by pinching, or wait for a very deep grasp with fingers up.

Possible concerns include the shell’s removal and surface finish: there is no special coating like on the LAMZU or Pulsar, and the large meat removal on both sides and at the rear of the mouse means that there is no grip at all. finalmouse or Pwnage Stormbreaker, If you’ve ever touched a Finalmouse, Pwnage Stormbreaker, or WLmouse BeastX, you’ll know what I mean. The grip tape seems to help with this, but my favorite Pulsar Supergrip and Meowgaming ultraglide are too thin and you can feel the texture of the padding through the tape. It would be nice to have a thicker, non-slip grip tape, but there is currently no such tape available, so it seems difficult to fundamentally solve this problem with magnesium mice.

6. まとめ

In conclusion, it is worth a try for those who feel that even the Ultralight M or BeastX is too big, but most people will probably find it too small.

Personally, I like the design and shape of the Darmoshark mouse the best of all the Darmoshark mice I have seen so far, and I think it has enough quality to be used as a main mouse. However, the battery is visible, the mouse wheel is hard and slippery, and the grip is low, so I feel that there are still many points that could be improved. The price is quite high for a Darmoshark, 16,980 yen for the blue purple, but if you are interested in this product, you may want to check it out.
